Red Cross Bazaar 2019;
On Sunday 17 November, the Halle Victor Hugo in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg hosted the annual Red Cross Bazaar from 10:00 for a total of 12 hours, with 40+ stands and activities offered throughout the day.
Under the High Patronage of HRH the Grand Duchess, President of the Red Cross Luxembourg, the event welcomed thousands of visitors including Luxembourg's Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Fernand Etgen, the Minister of Integration and of the Greater Region, Corinne Cahen, as well as the Mayor of Luxembourg-ville, Lydie Polfer, and Alderman Maurice Bauer.
The event was staffed by around 300 volunteers from local Red Cross branches throughout the Grand Duchy. Last year's event raised €180,000, and this year's event organisers hoped that a similar amount would be raised this year: the total amount raised will not be known until all incomes and expenditures are tallied, with the funds raised to support the Red Cross services that work to give a home to the most vulnerable in Luxembourg and abroad.
