Luxembourg-based NGO E.D.I. Madagascar, which works for a more just world and defends the cause of children, has raised money for its project in eastern Madagascar thanks to the organisation of a gourmet meal in Esch-sur-Alzette.

On 11 May 2019, Renato Favaro, chef and owner of the Cômo restaurant in Esch-Sur-Alzette, put his time and talent at the disposal of the non-profit organisation E.D.I. Madagascar to organise a gourmet meal for some one hundred guests at the Rambrouch Cultural Centre.

Last Thursday 19 June 2019, the accounts were closed and the restaurant donated the entire proceeds of the meal to the E.D.I. Madagascar committee. The €3,700 raised will fully contribute to the financing of a project to set up six self-sufficient school canteens that the NGO started in eastern Madagascar last January.

In his speech, the NGO President, Marcel Dell, took the opportunity to thank Renato Favaro and his team, as well as the municipality of Rambrouch for their support and the many volunteers who worked to make the evening a success.

The next event on the NGO's calendar will be its 5th anniversary, to be celebrated on 16 May 2020 at the Rambrouch Cultural Centre.
