On the occasion of Mother's Day, this Sunday 9 June, Caritas Luxembourg is selling three solidarity gifts to support mothers in Bangladesh.

Many mothers in Dhaka, the Bangladesh capital, live in shantytowns and work in the textile industry. In order to work, they often leave their infants alone during the day. In this context, Caritas Luxembourg has set up nurseries for children up to five years old. To date, ten nurseries accommodating 200 children have already been opened. Qualified and trained personnel in the field of early childhood education - recruited from the local community - accompany and surround babies and young children in their daily activities.

On the occasion of Mother's Day, Caritas Luxembourg is offering three meaningful solidarity gifts to support these mothers in Bangladesh. There is the choice of covering the costs of one month of childcare for one child (€20), childcare training for one mother so that she can open her own nursery (€52) or childcare equipment for a new nursery (€115).

These solidarity gifts are available on the Caritas Luxembourg website: www.caritas.lu/fetedesmeres. After choosing from the three gifts and paying online, donors will receive a gift box in PDF format to cut, fold, personalise and give back to their own mother.
