Luxembourg NGO Caritas has urged the public to support the homeless as winter approaches.

Despite Luxembourg being one of the world's wealthiest countries, poverty continues to grow in the Grand Duchy. This issue has always been one of the pillars of the work of Caritas Luxembourg.

In this context, Caritas Luxembourg teams will once again work tirelessly this winter to help the thousands of people living in precarious situations in the country. These intitiatives include the provision of emergency shelters, Wanteraktioun, day centres, supervised housing, professional reintegration, psychosocial support and activities to regain self-confidence and ability.

To carry out these initiatives, Caritas Luxembourg is also counting on the support of the population. Donations can be made by transfer to the account CCPL IBAN LU34 1111 0000 2020 0000 - citing "homeless" or via the website www.caritas.lu.

The funds raised will help finance access to housing, the construction of dwellings for people in need or support the Transition Houses intended to house former prisoners or to develop activities such as the Creamisu workshop, which allows homeless people to regain self-confidence.
