Almost €5K Raised for Food Bank Thanks to Big Plush Initiative

Cactus has closed the year 2017 on a philanthropic note with the presentation of a cheque deposit of €4,920 for the benefit of the Food Bank in their depot in Windhof.

Thanks to the Big Plush action, which involved the sale of giant plush toys in Cactus supermarkets since October 2017, almost €5,000 was raised to support families in precarious situations in Luxembourg.

For each giant stuffed toy sold, €5 was donated to the Food Bank. Thanks to the donation, the Food Bank will be able to obtain essential foodstuffs which will then be distributed to families in need.

On the same occasion as the cheque presentation, the Food Bank thanked Cactus for its long-standing support, particularly through the organisation of collections in the various Cactus stores throughout the year and the provision of its logistical and advertising resources. This year, some fifteen collections have enabled the Food Bank to collect more than 68,610 kilos of goods, which will then be redistributed to families in difficult situations.

The financial donation resulting from the sale of stuffed toys will be used to purchase products that are not covered by collections or that are occasionally lacking.
