€76k Raised for Children in Need at 3rd RBC Race for the Kids

Cheered on by Charline Mathias and Pascal Schumacher, the official ambassadors of the RBC Race for the Kids, over 1,300 runners – including RBC employees and their friends and families – braved the autumn weather and gathered at Parc Dräi Eechelen in Kirchberg on Sunday 22 October.

Thanks to this collective commitment, more than €76,000 was raised to assist children and their families supported by the Kannerhaus Jean Therapy Centre of the Luxembourg Red Cross. The money raised will help improve the lives of children who show signs of psychological suffering that can lead to behavioural difficulties.

Luc Scheer, Member of the General Management of the Luxembourg Red Cross thanked the participants and organizers for their solidarity: “I am delighted to see that the runners have answered the call once again in such large numbers for this third edition of the Race. I would like to thank RBC for this remarkable initiative, as well as the CSL Club d’Athlétisme Luxembourg, Fonds Kirchberg and the City of Luxembourg for their support. Tthis substantial contribution will greatly help the Kannerhaus Jean to pursue their exceptional work with children and their families.”

I congratulate all the volunteer organizers, runners and all those who made a donation for their solidarity with Kannerhaus Jean and their invaluable work with children in need. I know this money will make a real difference in the life of so many children and their families. This is a very noble cause and I am happy to be part of the efforts deployed by RBC, the Luxembourg Red Cross and Kannerhaus Jean. As an artist, I entirely support the therapy provided by Kannerhaus Jean to help children face life’s challenges and I am happy to see so many people supporting this cause with us” stated Pascal Schumacher.”

Since its launch in New York in 2008, RBC Race for the Kids has raised over €20 million, with money raised being donated to various children’s charities in many different locations.
