On 28 November 2016, the Committee for the Diversity Charter Lëtzebuerg, in collaboration with LISER (Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research), presented the results of the second ‘Diversité & Entreprise Lëtzebuerg’ barometer.
The data in the ‘Diversité & Entreprise Lëtzebuerg’ barometer, which is collected every two years, show a situational analysis of actions taken by 132 signatory organisations of the Diversity Charter Lëtzebuerg who responded to the questionnaire.
The barometer also permits the observation of the evolution of practices which were implemented between 2014 (the date of the first survey) and 2016. The movement of diversity management is progressing even if it is too early to declare significant advances in diversity policies in Luxembourg, which are being implemented for the long-term.
Companies have more responsibility when it comes to the actively managing diversity and have a more competitive edge. In fact, 46% of the chart’s signatory organisations have already created a diversity action plan and 62% have created a work environment which favours the concretisation of a diversity management policy. These figures clearly show global consideration of the importance of efficiently managing diversity in companies in order to increase their competitivity and performance.
Moreover, 55% of signatories witnessed improvements in relation to innovation and creativity. This can lead to a greater investment return for businesses.
Finally, the Committee for the Diversity Charter Lëtzebuerg has effectively confirmed that the issues dealt with by the chart, such as disabilities or even sexual orientation, have been better dealt with by the signatory organisations.
