Tango has closed the third quarter of 2016 with a turnover of €32 million and a mobile customer portfolio of 278,000 customers.

With a revenue of €32 million, Tango saw a slight drop of 1.1% compared to the third quarter of 2015. The results reflect the cut in roaming charges as well as the increasing success of the company’s fixed telephone, internet and TV offers.

The success of Tango Smart subscriptions, which were introduced to pre-empt the end of roaming charges, was also evident during this period. For instance, between September 2015 and September 2016, the company’s subscriber company base increased by 16,000 customers. However, this growth was interrupted by the reduction of the prepaid customer base following the end of anonymity for new users, which contributed to an annual decrease of 3.2% in its overall mobile customer base.

Despite the roaming regulation, the blended mobile ARPU for the third quarter increased by 0.5% from the last year to €30.1. This increase is the result of the growth of post-paid customers as well as better price-tiering.

These results bring Tango’s total turnover for the first nine months of 2016 to €93 million, which is 1.6% less than during the same period in 2015, mainly due to roaming prices set up by European regulations.
