On Thursday 6 June 2024, Spuerkeess (Banque et Caisse d'Épargne de l'État) reported that an "internal technical incident" has caused disruption to its online and phone services.

The bank explained that the internal technical failure resulted from an intervention in its IT systems. As such, the bank's services "cannot be provided according to [its] quality standards". Spuerkeess clarified that its teams are unable to answer calls from customers and its mobile banking services are "currently at a standstill".

The bank added that its branches remain open for "urgent" questions, and credit cards and the ATM network remain available to customers.

Spuerkeess emphasised that there are specialists within its teams who are "guaranteeing best practices" in the prevention and resolution of this incident. "We are doing everything we can to restore our activity as best as possible and we will keep you informed of developments in the situation," the statement continued, with the bank adding that it was grateful for its customers' trust.
