Portuguese bank Caixa Geral de Depósitos has announced that it is inaugurating a representative office in Luxembourg City on Tuesday evening.
The inauguration ceremony will be attended by institutional guests such as the Portuguese Ambassador to Luxembourg, António Gamito, the Consul-General, Jorge Cruz, and Caixa's Executive Director, José João Guilherme. Members of the Portuguese civil and business community living in the Grand Duchy will also be present.
The representative office, located at 6 Avenue de la Liberté, seeks to reinforce the connection of the extensive resident community with Caixa in Portugal, as well as the growing demand from foreign customers. The office is run by its three employees: Office Manager Isaura Rovisco and Commercial Assistants Daniel Veríssimo and Rui Almeida.
Caixa's presence in Luxembourg is aimed at promoting proximity, as well as all the products and services available on Caixa's branch network in Portugal, to customers residing in the Grand Duchy.
The bank announced the closure of its two former Luxembourg branches in 2018.
Caixa has representative offices in geographies with a highly representative Portuguese community, notably in South Africa (Johannesburg), Germany (Berlin, weekly service in Cologne, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Stuttgart), Belgium (Brussels), Canada (Toronto), the United Kingdom (London), Switzerland (Geneva, commercial representatives in Zurich and Lausanne) and Venezuela (Caracas).
