ING and the City of Luxembourg have announced the upcoming second edition of the Luxembourg Pride Run; the race will start at 19:00 on Thursday 11 July at Place Guillaume in Luxembourg-Ville.
Participants can choose to run 5 or 10 km or walk 5 km.
Following the resounding success of the first edition of the Luxembourg Pride Run, which took place on 5 July 2023, the 2024 race will welcome 3,500 runners, a significant increase on last year's 1,500 participants.
The Luxembourg Pride Run is a unique opportunity to show support for the LGBTIQ+ community and to take part in a festive and inclusive race. Participants can register online until Friday 5 July 2024. Part of the funds raised through registration will be donated to a joint project run by the local organisations Rosa Lëtzebuerg and CENTRE LGBTIQ+ Cigale.
“Thanks to the mobilisation of many runners, supporters and volunteers, the first edition of the Luxembourg Pride Run was able to send out a strong message of inclusion and of a more egalitarian society in which everyone finds their place,” the organisers noted, adding they hope that this second edition of the Luxembourg Pride Run will bring many people together to celebrate inclusion and diversity in Luxembourg City to show its openness, tolerance and diversity.
This initiative is being run jointly by the City of Luxembourg and ING Bank in collaboration with Rosa Lëtzebuerg, CENTRE LGBTIQ+ Cigale and IMS. The technical side of the race has been entrusted to the association Urban Trail de Luxembourg.
