On Friday 8 May 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported several recent incidents across Luxembourg including shoplifting cases, thefts from vehicles and an appeal for witnesses to help identify a suspect.
On Thursday 7 May 2026 afternoon, police received a report of a shoplifting incident at a store in Luxembourg-Gasperich. According to initial information, two women allegedly stole several items of clothing.
Later that afternoon, another shoplifting incident was reported in Grand-Rue in Luxembourg-Ville. According to the police, a man allegedly stole a polo shirt with the help of an accomplice.
In both cases the officers located suspects and brought them to the police station for further procedures. The officers filed reports for both incidents.
According to the police reports, several thefts from vehicles have happened in the past days. One such case took place on Thursday afternoon in Hemmeberreg in Schengen where, according to initial information, a perpetrator smashed a vehicle window to gain access to the interior before searching through the vehicle. A handbag was reportedly stolen.
Another theft from a vehicle was reported during the early hours of Friday at the Aire de Capellen service area in Mamer. Police said an unknown perpetrator gained access to a lorry and stole several pallets containing care products. Police continue to investigate all cases.
In a separate case, the police issued an appeal for witnesses following a theft from a vehicle in Rodange on 16 December 2025 at approximately 13:20. According to the officers, the perpetrators stole a wallet from the passenger seat of a vehicle.
