The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a large-scale joint traffic control operation took place on the Liaison Micheville road between the Belval and Audun-le-Tiche roundabouts on Wednesday 6 May 2026.
The operation was carried out together with French police officers during the afternoon and resulted in a total of 39 traffic violations being recorded on Luxembourg territory.
According to the police, ten drivers exceeded the speed limit by up to 20 km/h and received fines of €49.
In eleven additional cases, motorists exceeded the speed limit by more than 20 km/h and received fines of €145 and two penalty points.
Police also issued a procès-verbal after recording one driver travelling at 110 km/h. In two further cases, driving licences were confiscated on the spot after motorists were caught driving at 117 km/h and 120 km/h respectively instead of the permitted 70 km/h.
In addition, nine fines were issued for irregularities relating to vehicle documents and two for technical defects on vehicles.
One driver was fined for using a mobile phone while driving, while another received a fine because a child in the vehicle was not properly secured.
A total of six vehicles were towed during the operation.
