On Wednesday 6 May 2026, the Luxembourg Government held a series of bilateral consultation meetings with trade unions and employer representatives at the Ministry of State in Luxembourg-Ville.

The programme began with a bilateral meeting with trade unions OGBL and LCGB, followed by a meeting with employer representatives. A further meeting with the CGFP also took place, followed by a press briefing.

Participants included Luxembourg's Prime Minister Luc Frieden, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Foreign Trade, Cooperation and Humanitarian Action Xavier Bettel, Minister of Finance Gilles Roth, and Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning Claude Meisch, as well as representatives of the trade unions and CGFP.

According to the CGFP, the discussions addressed the impact of rising fuel, energy and food prices, housing market pressures and the upcoming tripartite negotiations, including the protection of the indexation mechanism.
