The Grand Ducal Police have reported several arrests made on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 May 2026 in connection with a violent theft and burglaries across Luxembourg.

Late on Monday afternoon, police were informed of the theft of a mobile phone at Luxembourg-Gare. According to initial information, the victim was pushed and harassed by two suspects, during which one of them stole the mobile phone from the victim’s jacket pocket and handed it to the second suspect. One of the suspects was apprehended at the scene by responding officers. During a body search, officers found two mobile phones, cash, pepper spray and a small quantity of drugs, which were seized. On the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge. The search for the second suspect has so far been unsuccessful.

On Tuesday morning, an attempted burglary at a detached house in Rue d’Olm in Kehlen was reported. According to initial information, a female suspect attempted to gain access to the property by smashing the glass of the back door but fled after being surprised by a resident. The suspect was apprehended shortly afterwards together with a suspected accomplice during a police search operation. Further investigations linked the pair to additional burglaries. On the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, both suspects were arrested and brought before an investigating judge.

Later that afternoon, another burglary was reported in Rue de Belval in Esch-Belval. According to initial information, three suspects entered the garden of a detached house before attempting to leave the premises. A police patrol attended the scene immediately and apprehended all three suspects. During a body search, officers found a large quantity of jewellery, which was subsequently seized. On the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the three suspects were arrested and brought before an investigating judge.
