The Grand Ducal Police have reported that on Tuesday 5 May 2026, at around 05:00, they were informed of a traffic accident on the A6 motorway in the direction of Luxembourg, near Strassen.
According to initial information, a car collided with the central reservation before coming to a stop on the left lane. Despite the rapid intervention of witnesses and emergency services, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 59-year-old Belgian national, died at the scene from his injuries.
The motorway remained closed until around 08:00 while clearance operations were carried out.
