The Grand Ducal Police have reported that fifteen driving offences were recorded on the morning of Wednesday 29 April 2026, during a large-scale traffic control operation on Rue de Deich in Ettelbruck.

According to the police, six drivers were issued fines for using a mobile phone while driving (€250 and four points), seven drivers were found to have irregularities with their vehicle documents, and one vehicle had a number plate that did not comply with the applicable regulations.

Furthermore, one driver was fined due to defects in the vehicle’s tyres (€145 and two points).

The Grand Ducal Police also reported that at around 21.45 on the evening of Tuesday 28 April, the police were notified of a vehicle swerving on the road from Troisvierges towards Asselborn. A police patrol was able to stop the vehicle at the entrance to Stockem. The driver showed clear signs of alcohol consumption and a subsequent breathalyser test returned a positive result. The driver’s licence was immediately confiscated.

Then, during a traffic control operation in the early hours of Wednesday 29 April, a police patrol stopped a driver on the A3 near Bettembourg who was travelling at 175 km/h. A breathalyser test returned a positive result and the driver’s licence was confiscated.
