The Grand Ducal Police have reported arrests made on Monday 27 April 2026 in connection with a theft in Mertert and a burglary in Christnach.

On Monday morning, police were informed of a theft at a petrol station on Route de Wasserbillig in Mertert. According to initial information, a man gained access to a storage room to steal items. As he was leaving the premises, he was caught by an employee, at which point he became physically aggressive. A third person intervened and separated the two. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge. The victim was taken to hospital for a medical check.

Later that evening, at around 21:40, a burglary was reported at a single-family home on Marcel Greischerstrooss in Christnach, where a window had reportedly been broken. A police patrol attended the scene and searched the property but did not find the suspect. However, further investigations led to the identification and apprehension of the suspect, in whose possession stolen goods were found. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, she was arrested and is due to be brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Tuesday 28 April 2026.
