On Monday 27 April 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that a man was arrested following a violent altercation in Luxembourg City on Thursday 24 April.
According to the initial information, at approximately 22:20 on Thursday 24 April a fight between several individuals was reported on Rue Philippe II in Luxembourg-Ville. Several police units immediately attended the scene and located a man who had sustained multiple knife wounds.
According to the police, the altercation had been preceded by a dispute between him and another man. This was followed by the reported fight which involved several individuals. The injured man, after receiving initial treatment at the scene, was taken to hospital.
Following further investigations, the police discovered that the man who was found injured had also stabbed his opponent. He was subsequently arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor and the investigating judge issued an arrest warrant.
The search for the second suspected individual is ongoing.
