On Wednesday 15 April 2026, Luxembourg’s Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity announced that it has signed a new cooperation agreement with non-profit organisations Mouvement écologique and Oekozenter Pafendall Asbl.
According to the ministry, the new agreement aims at strengthening their joint commitment to environmental protection, sustainable development and biodiversity.
Based on values of commitment, independence and citizen participation, Mouvement écologique plays a key role in Luxembourg’s civil society, the ministry noted. With around 3,000 members, it works closely with Oekozenter Pafendall to support sustainable development across areas such as climate and biodiversity protection, as well as the promotion of attractive municipalities, sustainable lifestyles, and responsible production and consumption.
The ministry said that the agreement will support the work of both organisations, including projects in biodiversity, energy and climate, as well as resource protection.
This work also includes strategic and structural actions and awareness-raising initiatives, as well as the preparation of well-founded opinions, the organisation of thematic campaigns, the development of innovative projects and the hosting of seminars and conferences.
