The Grand Ducal Police have reported several arrests made on Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 April 2026, in connection with a burglary in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie, as well as drink driving offences and a hit-and-run accident across Luxembourg.    

On Wednesday morning, police were informed of a burglary at a premises in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie. According to initial information, two suspects gained entry by smashing a window and stole several items as well as cash. During a search operation, one of the suspects was apprehended. During police procedures, he remained uncooperative and injured three officers. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge.

On Thursday evening, officers received a report of a driver allegedly under the influence of alcohol in the Crauthem area. A patrol located and stopped the vehicle shortly afterwards in Rue de Hellange. The driver showed clear signs of alcohol consumption and a breath test returned positive. A temporary driving ban was issued. During police procedures, the individual became increasingly uncooperative and, as he was deemed a danger to himself and others, he was taken into custody following a medical examination.

In a separate incident that same evening, a traffic accident was reported in Rue Michel Weber in Ettelbruck. According to initial information, a possibly intoxicated driver collided with a parked vehicle and left the scene without addressing the damage. The driver was located shortly afterwards by a police patrol. A breath test was positive and his driving licence was confiscated. A report was issued.
