On the afternoon of Sunday 29 March 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that several disputes and public disturbances had taken place within the previous 24 hours.
During this period, police across the Grand Duchy were called out more than 65 times for various disputes and disturbances. In most cases, the situation was resolved and the individuals involved were cooperative.
However, in two cases involving domestic violence, the Public Prosecutor's Office ordered the removal of a person from the premises.
On Saturday 28 March 2026, at approximately 22:45, police received a report of a disruptive individual at the Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch (CHEM) in Esch-sur-Alzette. The individual was visibly intoxicated, agitated and insulting staff. As she could not be calmed and posed a danger to herself and others, the woman was taken into custody to sober up following a medical examination.
Around 00:30 on Sunday 29 March 2026, police officers were verbally abused by a person on Place Joseph Bech in Diekirch. This individual, also heavily intoxicated and unsteady on her feet, similarly posed a danger to herself and others and was taken into custody for sobering up after a medical examination.
These incidents follow earlier reports of disputes and public disturbances across Luxembourg over the past weekend.
