The Grand Ducal Police have reported the arrest of a man following an attack and physical assault in an apartment on Route de Luxembourg in Pétange.
According to the initial information, the police received a report on the afternoon of Thursday 18 February 2026, of a violent incident where a man allegedly attacked and physically assaulted an acquaintance.
Emergency services provided first aid at the scene before taking the victim to hospital for further checks. The police opened an investigation.
Shortly afterwards, the victim reported a further incident in which the suspect threatened him with a knife. A police patrol immediately went to the scene and found the suspect, where officers also seized a knife.
On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the police arrested the man, who will appear before an investigating judge.
