The Grand Ducal Police have once again warned the public about recently reported fake calls made via messaging services that appear to come from the police.

The police reminded that, in such cases, the caller introduces themselves in English as a supposed police officer and asks the victim to disclose personal data under false pretenses.

The police recalled that they do not make calls via such services and that every police officer in Luxembourg can speak Luxembourgish fluently.

The police reminded the public to pay attention, advising them not to answer these calls and to block the caller. They also urged people to always check the caller ID or number before answering, and to contact the emergency police number 113 when in doubt.
