On the evening of Wednesday 14 January 2026, Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg hosted the traditional New Year reception at the Grand Ducal Palace.
The event brought together senior representatives of Luxembourg’s institutions, including the President of the Chamber of Deputies (parliament), Claude Wiseler, Prime Minister Luc Frieden and members of the government, members of the Council of State, senior representatives of the judiciary, as well as members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Luxembourg and representatives of the European institutions.
This annual protocol event provides an opportunity for the exchange of New Year wishes and discussions between the Grand Ducal Couple and the country’s senior authorities. More than 300 people attended the reception, including the spouses and partners of the invited guests.
