The Grand Ducal Police have reported that they made several arrests over the weekend in relation to separate incidents involving suspected drug dealing, theft from a vehicle and assault.

In the late afternoon of Saturday 10 January 2026, police received reports of a theft from a vehicle in a car park in Diekirch. According to initial information, a window was smashed and a laptop and headphones, among other items, were stolen. The suspect was apprehended during the investigation and the stolen goods were recovered. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Sunday 11 January 2026.

Later on Saturday, police arrested a suspected drug dealer in the capital's train station district (Luxembourg-Gare). At around 21:25, a man approached an unmarked police patrol on Rue de la Fonderie and asked whether they wanted to buy drugs, before showing them several packets. He was immediately apprehended. The public prosecutor's office was informed and ordered the arrest of the suspected drug dealer, who was brought before an investigating judge the following morning.

Shortly before midnight, police received a report of a person who had been stabbed in the back on Route de Longwy in Rodange. According to initial information, an argument had taken place earlier in a bar between the victim and the perpetrator, culminating in the assault near the train station. The victim was taken to hospital for medical treatment. A suspect was apprehended during the subsequent search. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, he was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on Sunday afternoon.

At around 02:20 on Sunday, an altercation was reported outside a bar in Rumelange, during which an individual was injured with a knife. A police patrol immediately went to the scene. According to initial information, an argument had broken out between two men and escalated into a scuffle. After they had been initially separated, the perpetrator attacked the victim with a knife. The victim subsequently went to hospital. The knife was found near the scene of the crime and confiscated. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge.
