The Grand Ducal Police have reported several incidents that occurred in the evening of Monday 30 December and the early hours of Tuesday 31 December 2025, involving drink- and drug-driving, as well as a violent theft in Luxembourg City.
On Monday evening at around 20:00, police officers noticed a vehicle in Bertrange after it drove over a traffic island. The vehicle was stopped shortly afterwards on the N34. A roadside drug test carried out on the female driver tested positive and the officers recorded the incident.
Later the same evening, at approximately 21:30, a police patrol observed a vehicle driving dangerously at a junction near Place de la Gare in Luxembourg-Gare district. After several attempts to stop the vehicle, the driver was eventually intercepted near Rue Joseph Junck. The driver tested positive for alcohol and the police issued a provisional driving ban.
In a separate incident, during the early hours of Tuesday 31 December 2025, police were alerted to a robbery in Rue d’Epernay in the capital’s station district. According to initial information, a man was attacked by two individuals, who stole his mobile phone. An investigation has been launched.
