On Thursday 18 December 2025, the Grand Ducal Police reported that multiple shoplifters were arrested in Luxembourg City after several incidents were reported on Wednesday 17 December.
According to the police, on the afternoon of Wednesday 17 December 2025, a shoplifting incident was reported in a store on Place de la Gare in Luxembourg-Gare, involving two individuals attempting to steal several items. The alleged offenders were promptly intercepted by a police patrol and the stolen goods were recovered. On the orders of the public prosecutor, the suspects were processed for identification and a report was drawn up.
Then, on Wednesday evening, two further shoplifting incidents were reported at a shopping centre in Luxembourg-Kirchberg. In both cases, a man had stolen multiple items. Both individuals were quickly located by a police patrol and the stolen goods were secured. During subsequent checks, one of the suspects was linked to previous thefts and was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor. He was brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Thursday 18 December 2025. A report was drawn up for the second suspect.
