On Wednesday 17 December 2025, the Grand Ducal Police reported that they had seized nearly 5,000 suspected counterfeit items during searches carried out at businesses in Esch-sur-Alzette and Luxembourg City.
The searches took place on Tuesday 25 November 2025 and targeted shops suspected of trading in counterfeit goods. During the operation, police seized and confiscated almost 5,000 suspected counterfeit items from various luxury brands, as well as around €19,000 in cash, on the order of the investigating judge. Further investigations are ongoing.
The operation was led by the general crime division of the Grand Ducal Police and was carried out with the cooperation and support of various police units, the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Bureau Gestion des Avoirs (BGA) and Europol.
