On Monday 15 December 2025, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) announced that the Bock Casemates had welcomed their 200,000th visitor of the year, marking a new attendance record for one of Luxembourg City’s most popular tourist attractions.
According to the LCTO, this milestone was reached almost three weeks earlier than in 2024, when the same record was achieved on 31 December. To mark the occasion, the 200,000th visitor was welcomed during a small reception attended by representatives of the LCTO and the City of Luxembourg, and was presented with a special gift featuring a selection of local products.
A cultural landmark and major tourist attraction
Dating back to the 17th century, the Bock Casemates form part of Luxembourg City’s former fortress and are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The underground defensive network remains one of the capital’s most emblematic cultural landmarks, attracting visitors from Luxembourg and abroad each year.
With this new record, the Bock Casemates have further consolidated their position as Luxembourg City’s most visited tourist site, underlining their importance as a key pillar of the capital’s cultural and tourism offer.
