The Grand Ducal Police have reported several traffic offences following checks carried out on Thursday 11 December 2025.

From 11:00 to 13:00 on Thursday, the traffic police conducted a large-scale speed control operation on the A1 motorway, travelling from Luxembourg towards Trier (Germany), in ​​a long-term construction zone near Senningerberg.

In five cases, officers confiscated driving licences on the spot due to serious speeding violations. Another 25 drivers received fines of €145 and two penalty points for exceeding the permitted speed limit of 90 km/h by more than 25 km/h within the construction zone. Four other drivers received fines for incomplete vehicle registration documents.

Later that same day, between 14:30 and 16:30, another traffic control operation took place in Bollendorf-Pont (N10). One driver was fined €49 for exceeding the speed limit within built-up areas. One motorist received a €49 fine for defective vehicle lighting, while another received a €24 fine for failing to produce a valid driving licence.

Separately, during the night of Friday 12 December 2025, a police patrol stopped an apparently intoxicated driver on Avenue John F. Kennedy in Luxembourg-Kirchberg. As the driver refused to undergo a breathalyser test, his driving licence was confiscated.

That same night, the police received a report concerning a potentially intoxicated female driver in Belvaux whose vehicle was said to have two flat tyres. Officers located the driver shortly afterwards. Her breath alcohol test came back positive and she received a provisional driving ban.
