On Wednesday 3 September 2025, the City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL) warned the public about the presence of fraudulent payment stickers on certain parking meters within Luxembourg City.

According to the VdL, the stickers bear the inscription “pay by phone” along with a falsified QR code, which redirects users to a fraudulent website where they are asked to share personal information.

The fraudulent stickers are placed on the side of the parking meters next to the “Indigo Neo” logo, covering the legitimate QR code for downloading the “Indigo Neo” mobile application. They can also be found on the front side of the parking meter.

The VdL reminded the public that only the “Indigo Neo” application, which requires a mobile download and the creation of a user account, allows payment of on-street parking fees in Luxembourg City. Any other payment options offered on the parking meters are neither official nor legitimate. An explanatory sticker signed “Indigo Neo” is affixed to the side of the parking meters and clearly indicates the correct procedure for paying parking fees.

The VdL stated that they are working to remove the illicit stickers as quickly as possible.
