The Grand Ducal Police have reported the arrest of a man following a bar fight in Ettelbruck on Thursday 20 February 2025
At around 19:35 on Thursday evening, the police received reports of a fight taking place in a bar on Grand-Rue in Ettelbruck. A police patrol was dispatched to the scene where the officers found a man and a woman, who were related to one other. According to the information provided, there had been an argument between the two people beforehand, during which the man, who was reported as being heavily intoxicated, hit the woman.
The suspected perpetrator was taken to the police station due to his intoxicated state and aggressive behaviour. He is reported to have repeatedly made death threats against one of the police officers present, both during official procedures and later during a medical check-up in hospital.
The perpetrator was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office and brought before an investigating judge on Friday morning.
