On the evening of Thursday 20 February 2025, the Grand Ducal Police warned that burglars were on the run in the Garnich area.
In a statement issued shortly before 21:00 on Thursday, the police reported that a break-in took place at a single-family home in Garnich, with the perpetrators subsequently fleeing in the direction of Holzem (Mamer).
At the time of writing, a manhunt was underway. The police warned the public not to pick up hitchhikers in the Garnich and Holzem areas.
The police also asked the public to report any suspicious people in the area(s) immediately to the emergency number 113.
