The Grand Ducal Police have reported that they made several arrests in relation to recent thefts, a break-in and an assault.

The police reported that they arrested a suspect who attacked a woman in Wiltz. Late on Monday 17 February 2025, there were reports of a woman screaming in a toilet at the train station in Wiltz. A police patrol immediately went to the scene and found two people inside the toilet. According to initial information, one of them had been violent towards the other (i.e. the woman), who suffered injuries and was taken to hospital for a check-up. The suspect was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor.

In the early hours of Wednesday 19 February 2025, two men were reported to have gained access to the showroom of a company in Troisvierges and slept there. A police patrol went to the scene and found the two men. One of the two men was found to be in possession of a knife and the other was found to be in possession of several bank cards. Further investigations revealed that the bank cards were related to a theft from a vehicle. The two suspects could also be linked to other vehicle break-ins. The public prosecutor's office was informed and ordered the arrest of the two suspects, who were later brought before the investigating judge.

Also in the early hours / overnight on Wednesday, the police received reports of a break-in at a single-family home on Schoulstrooss in Schlindermanderscheid. Several police patrols immediately went to the scene. Further investigations revealed that there had also been a break-in at a house on Schlënnerwee and a vehicle on Haaptstrooss. Two suspects were arrested as part of a manhunt. They were arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office and brought before the investigating judge on Wednesday afternoon.

On Wednesday evening, the police received reports of a theft at a petrol station in Rombach-Martelange, in which, according to initial information, an employee repeatedly stole cigarette packs. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, officers carried out a body and vehicle search, during which they confiscated a total of 71 cigarette packs. The suspect was then arrested and brought before an investigating judge.

Moreover, in the early hours of / overnight on Thursday 20 February 2025, there were reports of an incident at the train station in Esch-sur-Alzette in which two men threatened another man from whom they were trying to steal. A police patrol immediately went to the scene and found the men on-site. One of the men is said to have been heavily intoxicated, could not be calmed down and repeatedly threatened and insulted the opposing party. Due to his condition, the officers decided to take him into custody. However, the man was uncooperative and had to be immobilised. One officer was slightly injured. During further official actions, the man continued to insult the officers, who drew up reports for "rebellion" and regarding the reported fight with attempted theft.
