On Thursday 13 February 2025, the Grand Ducal Police reported that they had arrested a suspect in connection with a stabbing incident in Rumelange which had occurred on Wednesday evening.
On Wednesday evening, shortly before midnight, an argument between two men was reported in Rumelange. A police patrol immediately went to the scene and discovered an injured person in rue Jean-Pierre Bausch. The person had suffered what the police described as a minor cut from a knife wound and was taken to hospital for treatment. During the subsequent investigation, a knife was discovered and confiscated, and a suspect was identified.
During a subsequent house search, the Police discovered several mobile phones, drugs, drug paraphernalia and a firearm, all of which were confiscated.
On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the suspect was arrested and was brought before an investigating judge on Thursday afternoon.
