"Liichtmëssdag" (Candlemas) festivities took place across Luxembourg on Sunday 2 February 2025.
Traditionally, in the afternoon or early evening of Liichtmëssdag, held every year on 2 February, children go door to door bearing lanterns and singing "Léiwer Härgottsblieschen" in exchange for sweets and coins.
The City of Luxembourg has reported that, for this year's celebration, its College of the Mayor and Aldermen welcomed children of cycle 1 of the Eich primary school at Luxembourg City Hall on Monday 3 February 2025.
