On Tuesday 24 September 2024, Luxembourg's public prosecutor's office confirmed that twin sisters Anna and Yuliia had been found "safe and sound".

Following the appeal for witnesses concerning the disappearance of the seven-year-old twin girls on Saturday 21 September 2024, as well as media coverage, information provided by the public and several police actions and investigations, the children were found unharmed in Trier, Germany, as reported by the youth protection department of the Luxembourg public prosecutor's office.

With the support of the German authorities, the girls were returned to their children's home on Monday evening.

The appeal for witnesses has since been lifted. Due to the ongoing investigation, the public prosecutor's office said it would not provide further details.
