The City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg) has reported that a flower laying ceremony took place in front of the monument honouring John the Blind in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg on Friday 6 September 2024.

On this occasion, after the traditional fairground mass, Chief Alderman Maurice Bauer, Alderman Patrick Goldschmidt and Charles Hary, President of the FNCF national federation of showmen, paid tribute to the founder of the Schueberfouer while reviewing the history of this unique event in their speeches.

John the Blind, King of Bohemia and Count of Luxembourg, founded the Schueberfouer in 1340.
