The Grand Ducal Police have reported that they issued fines to 25 drivers for using a mobile phone while driving on the afternoon of Thursday 29 August 2024.

During a traffic check in Mersch on Thursday between 15:30 and 17:00, a total of 25 drivers received a fine for using a mobile phone while driving (i.e. a fine of €250 and four points on their licence).

Moreover, in ten cases, the driver or passenger was not wearing a seat belt. Two drivers received a fine for being unable to produce proof of a valid technical inspection and one driver was fined for wearing headphones while driving.

The police issued additional fines for a vehicle modification that was not recorded in the vehicle registration certificate, as well as for changing an exhaust and a worn tyre.
