The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) has reported that a fire broke out at Parc Merveilleux in Bettembourg on Thursday 1 August 2024.
An air conditioner caught fire in a technical room adjoining the Amazon house (Maison de l'Amazonie) on Thursday afternoon.
The CGDIS noted that the fire was quickly brought under control by first responders before firefighters completely extinguished it and ventilated the building.
The nearly 500 people who were in the park at the time (public and staff) were evacuated and no injuries were reported.
The park remained closed for the rest of the day as a precaution but will reopen on Friday 2 August 2024.
