On Thursday 1 August 2024, the Grand Ducal Police reported that two suspects had been transferred to Luxembourg under an international arrest warrant.

As part of the fight against serious property crime, investigators from the "répression du grand banditisme" (suppression of serious crime) department of the judiciary police identified several individuals suspected of violent theft and qualified theft.

The Luxembourg judiciary had accordingly issued European arrest warrants and the suspects had been sought internationally. As part of international cooperation with the judicial and police authorities in various countries in Eastern and Southeastern Europe, two suspects have now been arrested.

Both were extradited to Luxembourg by aeroplane a few days ago and brought before the investigating judge.
