The Grand Ducal Police have announced that they were made aware of an individual breaking into vehicles in Mamer on Wednesday 31 July 2024.
At around 11:25, the police received a report of a man in Rue des Roses in Mamer who had broken into a vehicle there and who was reportedly tampering with a second vehicle. The suspect was located shortly afterwards by a police patrol.
According to the police, he then attempted to flee in a vehicle by speeding towards the officers.
Two shots were fired from a service weapon, after which the perpetrator abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
The suspect was apprehended in the course of the manhunt following the incident.
