On Friday 19 July 2024, the Grand Ducal Police reported an incident on Rue Prince Henri in Ettelbrück, during which a police officer suffered an arm injury.
The officers had asked a driver to remove her vehicle from a delivery lane at around 17:00 on Friday. During a check of the occupants, the officers smelled cannabis as the driver opened the door. The passenger then became angry and “extremely aggressive”, the police noted. Soon afterwards, the passenger attempted to slam the vehicle door while a police officer's arm was in the way, causing the officer’s arm injury.
Despite strong resistance, the police officers immediately immobilised and handcuffed the passenger, the police noted. Inside the police car, the passenger started to hit the sliding door furiously, causing it to fall out of the guide rail.
The public prosecutor's office ordered the man's arrest, and the vehicle, money, and drugs were confiscated.
