The Grand Ducal Police announced that several burglaries were reported this week, with two having occurred on Wednesday 19 June 2024.
On the morning of Monday 17 June 2024, several bicycles were stolen from the basement of an apartment building in Rue de l'Alzette in Esch-sur-Alzette. As part of the investigation, the stolen bicycles were located and the suspects were arrested. A report was drawn up.
On Wednesday, shortly after 03:00, a burglary was reported on business premises in Pétange. A person was found sleeping on-site. The man stated that he had previously been attacked and injured by an unknown individual in the centre of Pétange. The police officers took him to the emergency room for treatment. Due to his heavily intoxicated state, he was then placed into temporary arrest to sober up, the police added. The incident was recorded.
Shortly before 04:30, another burglary was reported in Pétange, in which two perpetrators fled. They reportedly rummaged through several cupboards and boxes and stole cash. Both offenders were dressed in dark-coloured clothing and were carrying rucksacks, the police noted. They fled in the direction of Rue de l'Ecole.
Investigations have been initiated in both cases.
