
The Grand Ducal Police have reported that in the early hours of Friday 1 August 2025, a driver was reported to be travelling in the wrong direction on the A6.
Upon receipt of the report, a police patrol was immediately dispatched to the area, where they found a vehicle with a damaged tyre on the emergency lane of the A6 (in the direction of Arlon) near Mamer. Investigations at the site revealed that this was the vehicle and driver originally reported to the police.
According to initial information, the driver had travelled several hundred metres against traffic, collided with the central barrier, turned around and came to a stop on the emergency lane. The driver showed clear signs of alcohol consumption and was subjected to an alcohol test, which came back positive. The police subsequently issued a provisional driving ban.
