The Grand Ducal Police have reported that an altercation with police officers occurred during an identity check in the late afternoon of Tuesday 11 June 2024, in a city park in Luxembourg-Ville.
One of the individuals being checked behaved so aggressively towards the officers that he was asked to leave the area. The man then became increasingly hostile towards the officers and reportedly “rebelled” against them. The officers used pepper spray, after which the man fled. The officers gave chase and were able to arrest him immediately, the police noted.
He was immobilised and taken to the police station for further official action, the police reported. As he was deemed to pose a danger to himself and others, he was placed in custody after a medical check. A report was drawn up about the incident.
