The City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL) has reported that it received Trupti Mehta, environmental and social activist and co-founder of the NGO Action Research in Community Health (ARCH), and her partner Ambrish Mehta at City Hall on Thursday 30 May 2024.

Alderman Maurice Bauer and Anne Brasseur, former MP and member of the board of directors of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, welcomed the couple at City Hall on Thursday. Trupti Mehta had received the Walter Scheel Award in Germany earlier this week for her work in the fight against poverty among marginalised people and more particularly in favour of the private property rights of farmers and the empowerment of women as co-owners of land.

Maurice Bauer and Anne Brasseur congratulated Trupti and Ambrish Mehta for their "unwavering dedication and commitment" to democratic ideals and the advancement of India's marginalised communities.
