The City of Luxembourg’s (Ville de Luxembourg – VdL) municipal administration has announced that panoramic shots of the City will be taken from Monday 3 to Sunday 30 June 2024.
The company Cyclomedia Deutschland GmbH will take 360° panoramic shots of all road areas located on the territory, including pedestrian areas of Luxembourg City, aiming to analyse the condition of the municipal road network. According to the VdL, the activity’s purpose is the maintenance of public infrastructure and municipal development.
The digital photos will be taken by several high-resolution cameras installed on a specially equipped car and will be intended exclusively for internal use by the municipal services of the VdL. Organisational and technical measures have been defined to ensure the protection of personal data. For example, people's faces and vehicle license plates that appear in photos will be pixellated, the VdL stressed.
