The Grand Ducal Police have confirmed that a suspected drug dealer was arrested in the Luxembourg-Gare district, late during the night on Monday 27 May 2024.
A police patrol in Rue de Strasbourg at Luxembourg-Gare, noticed a man who suddenly changed direction and ran into a nearby supermarket upon seeing the officers.
Shortly afterwards, the man left the supermarket with a bottle of beer. The officers asked the man to stop, whereupon he turned round and took a large swig of his beer. The police noted it was suspected that the man had possibly swallowed narcotic tamper seals. During the scanner examination that was subsequently ordered, several foreign objects were found in the suspect's body, the police noted.
By order of the public prosecutor's office, the suspect was arrested and brought before the examining magistrate on the morning of Tuesday 28 May 2024.
